SKINDEEP is a 30-frame demonstration of the new process called "morphing",
where a image is gradually remolded onscreen to match a second image.
You've seen this effect most recently in the blockbuster film TERMINATOR II
-- where most of the "liquid metal" scenes involved sophisticated morphing.
The three images used in SKINDEEP were at 320x200x256 resolution. You'll
need a copy of any popular .FLI-format viewing program that can handle
320x200 VGA to view the animation.
Thanks are due to Mr. David K. Mason, the author of DTA (Dave's Targa
Animator) and DMORF (Dave's Morphing Program) -- if you're interested in
creating animations like SKINDEEP yourself, I highly recommend these two
superb shareware packages! They're truly "Hollywood material"!
By the way, if you'd like to tap into the best collection of Caped Crusader
files -- from TV, film and the comics -- then drop by The Batboard TBBS!
We've got a library of raytracing, morphing and other .FLI animations
that'll knock your socks off, 2 CD-ROMs online 24 hours a day... and
customized Batman-related GIFs, sound files and text files you can't find
anywhere else! Drop by, won't you? Membership is free, and you can
download on your first call!
If you enjoy SKINDEEP, check out CAT2CAT.ZIP - the first morph animation in
this series. It's available on The Batboard TBBS - or a quality BBS near
you!
"See you in the morphing grid!"
